’71 (Film4, 9pm)

Jack O’Connell (who you may know as Cook from Skins) plays a British soldier sent to Belfast in the early years of the Troubles. During a riot, he becomes separated from his unit.

Champions League: Real Madrid v AS Roma (TV3, 7.30pm) 

The teams face off in the Bernabeu in Madrid, with analysis from Harry Redknapp and Kevin Kilbane. #championsleague

Everybody’s talking about: Ripper Street

It’s bad news for the Irish film and TV industry as Ripper Street, which filmed in Dublin and was produced by Element Pictures, has been cancelled.

The final season of the show has just started filming in the capital, and will air on Amazon Prime later this year.
